Position Overview
We are seeking a Strategic Quality Engineer who is detail-oriented and proactive. This role is critical to ensuring our products meet the highest quality standards through the development and implementation of robust quality assurance processes. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams and play a key role in driving product and process excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance Processes: Develop, implement, and maintain quality protocols to meet industry and customer standards
Root Cause Analysis: Investigate issues and perform root cause analysis; implement corrective/preventive actions
Documentation: Maintain records including inspection reports, test plans, and non-conformance reports
Collaboration: Partner with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to integrate quality across product life cycles
Training: Provide training and support in quality tools and methodologies
Continuous Improvement: Lead Lean/Six Sigma initiatives to improve processes and systems
Customer Support: Serve as a liaison to address customer quality concerns and provide technical guidance
Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry regulations (e.g., ISO 9001)
Supervision: Oversee Quality Technicians and Inspectors
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field (required)
Experience:
5+ years in NPD procurement, supplier development, or related field
Preferred experience in:
Global refrigeration commodities purchasing
Electronics supplier development
Supplier quality management
Manufacturing/production line support
Project management (PM experience a plus)
Pricing and negotiations
Oracle MRP systems (preferred, not required)
Skills & Abilities:
Strong communication skills across organizational levels
In-depth knowledge of supplier selection processes
Additional Details
Travel: Up to 30% (domestic and international)
Physical Requirements: Occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs); extended periods of computer and phone use
